He gave up the traveling consulting jobs and married Marie in 1977, bought a Ranger 32 and raced it very successfully out of Marblehead and Boston until 1980, when he raced it in the Marion/Bermuda race.

In 1977, David and Marie started New England Marine Documentation Services as a result of complicated issues in buying the Ranger 32. With the success of New England Marine, they felt offering marine insurance to their documentation clients would be a natural, and it was. So, in 1985, the Admiralty Insurance Agency was created.

In 1986, under pressure from a national marine lender, they opened a branch of New England Marine at Marina Village, Alameda, CA.

David bought and restored a 1973 58’ Hatteras Tricabin GLASS EAGLE, which he lives on and enjoys.(youtube: glass eagle yacht) Unfortunately, he has put GLASS EAGLE on the market for sale after a 14-year rebuild.

David also owns a Ranger 26-2 TOYPEDO and races it in the Alameda estuary, mostly the Oakland and Encinal Yacht Clubs twilight races Fast forward, today, David has closed New England Marine Title and has joined the sales team at Richard Boland Yacht Sales in Alameda, CA. Why Richard Boland Yachts? He replied, “I respect Richard for both his moral and ethical approach to life as it aligns perfectly with my own”!
